INFORMATION POWER INSTITUTE AUSTRALIA
Supporting the development of
Australia’s information power capability

The Global Information Summit returns to Adelaide: 21 - 24 July 2026
Building on the Global Information Conference in 2024, the Global Information Summit Australia 2026 will be a landmark four-day event designed to build the information ecosystem, fuse capabilities across sectors, and advance the information profession in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment.
This Summit recognises that information is no longer the concern of any single domain. Defence, energy, critical infrastructure, FinTech, industry, government and academia now face shared challenges: cyber threats with physical consequences, regulatory and privacy obligations, operational resilience, and the safe integration of digital systems into real-world operations.
Hosted by the Information Power Institute Australia, the Association of Old Crows - Australian & New Zealand Chapter, and the Information Professionals Association. This four-day Summit will bring together leaders, practitioners and operators from energy, industry, government, defence, critical infrastructure, space, and academia to create a coherent and resilient network capable of addressing modern information risk and opportunity.
The Summit will also include an inaugural war game facilitated by the Irregular Warfare Centre (US) on Friday 24 July 2026. More information on the war game, and additional briefing days (both class and unclass) can be found here.

Research & Innovation Stream - Wednesday 22 July 2026
Designed for academic, industry and government leaders and practitioners, the inaugural Research & Innovation Stream will feature presentations and discussions that:
-
Highlight high quality strategic and applied research addressing real world information challenges, emerging risks and future opportunities
-
Demonstrate how research evidence informs education, professional learning, workforce capability and professional practice across sectors
-
Foster dialogue between researchers, educators, policymakers and industry, translating insights into practical, policy relevant and operational outcomes.
Contributions are now invited from academic, industry and government researchers and experts whose work advances understanding or practice in areas related to the Summit’s theme of building the ecosystem, fusing capabilities and developing the profession.
Submission deadline: 11.59pm AEST, Sunday 19 April 2026
Notification of outcomes: Monday 18 May 2026
